The role

Why we need you

As OSS continues to scale and manage several investment vehicles in France and the US, we are strengthening our finance team with the addition of a Fund Operations Manager.

Your main areas of focus will be:

• Fund Operations.

• Financial Reporting.

• Coordination with financial service providers (fund admins, accountants, auditors, etc.).

• Investor relations (reporting, events, annual meetings, etc.).

Who you’ll be working with

You will join the OSS finance team, working closely with the CFO.

You will also interact regularly with:

• Financial service providers (fund admins, accountants, auditors, etc.).

• Legal advisors.

• Portfolio company founders.

This role sits at the intersection of finance, investment, and investor relations.

2️⃣ Missions

Fund operations and portfolio management

• Support LP capital activities (capital calls, distributions, etc.) and fund lifecycle operations (closings, extensions, etc.).

• Partner with the investment team on portfolio management, deal preparation and execution.

• Coordinate with other external service providers in France and in the US (accountants, fund administrators, custodians, auditors, etc.).

Financial reporting

• Manage data collection from our portfolio companies.

• Perform asset valuations and performance calculations.

• Produce quarterly and semi-annual investor reports (in line with Invest Europe and ILPA standards).

Investor relationships

• Collaborate with the finance team on our investor relationships (onboarding, follow-ups, investor days, annual general meetings).

• Support and handle information and confirmation requests.

Systems improvement

• Strengthen data integrity across tools and systems.

• Implement automation initiatives.

• Assist with regulatory compliance.

3️⃣ Profile

Experience

• 4+ years in VC or PE within a back-office, middle-office, or financial controller position in a private equity or venture capital fund. We'll also consider applications with a fund administration, audit, or asset management experience.

• You have led projects autonomously and taken ownership of the production of key deliverables. You have contributed to structuring and improving operational processes, and acted as a trusted point of contact for multiple stakeholders.

The skills we are looking for

• Strong understanding of fund structures, fund accounting, auditing and administration.

• Strong understanding of valuation methodologies in early stage / illiquid assets, cap tables and equity management.

• Strong understanding of SaaS models and how to perform due diligence on them.

• Advanced financial modeling and analysis.

• Rigor, documentation discipline, attention to detail and integrity.

• Excellent communication skills (French & English required).

This is not the ideal position for you if

• You find context switching and interacting with a wide range of stakeholders (startup founders, service providers, investors, etc.) challenging.

• You prefer a steady workload and find high-activity peaks (approx. once a quarter) hard to manage.

• You are not comfortable working and presenting deliverables in English.

Career Path

• As OSS grows, the scope of the Fund Operations Manager role is expected to shoulder the increased scale and sophistication of our assets (whether as a Head of Fund Operations, or in a specialist capacity such as Investor Relations).

• This role also offers significant exposure to corporate finance applied to software startups and can be a gateway to finance positions in portfolio companies (such as FP&A or Head of Finance).
